I make Shopify stores easier to buy from.

Shopify developers are easy to find. Developers who understand conversion, checkout behavior, and what actually makes people buy are not. I build directly in Liquid and JavaScript to make storefronts clearer, faster, and easier to buy from, without unnecessary app bloat.

Made the subscription discount show up instantly, not after the widget loaded.

Zivolife's product page first displayed the full one-time price, then flickered to the discounted subscription price after the Recharge widget loaded. That created unnecessary doubt at the point of purchase. After working with Recharge support to understand the widget's rendering behavior, I built a Liquid and JavaScript override that displays the subscription price from the first paint and switches only when a shopper selects "Buy once." No additional app required.

An upsell that validates input before it ever hits the cart.

A Shopify theme seller needed a checkbox upsell on the product page. When selected, a second product is added alongside the main item, but only after the customer completes a required field. I rebuilt the buy-button snippet to validate the input, stop the add-to-cart action with a clear error when it is empty, and leave the standard flow untouched when the upsell is not selected. Minimal vanilla JavaScript, scoped CSS, and no additional app.

Every color variant became its own tile on the collection page.

Built as a technical assessment for a private Shopify store: a custom collection template that renders each color variant as a standalone product tile with its own image, label, and direct link, rather than hiding the full range behind one listing. Filtering prevents duplicate tiles, images lazy-load, and styles remain scoped to the template.

Three features merchants usually install apps for, built directly into the theme.

A self-directed build exploring what can live directly in the theme when the requirements are focused: a responsive video banner with separate desktop and mobile files, a timezone-aware announcement-bar countdown, and an AJAX cart-drawer upsell that hides after it is added and returns if removed. Each feature includes merchant-facing controls in the theme editor.

Inventory updated through code, without touching the Shopify admin.

A Node.js script that handles common catalog and inventory tasks programmatically: fetching products, creating products, enabling inventory tracking, and setting stock by location. Credentials are stored securely in environment variables, creating a foundation for bulk updates, inventory syncs, and broader Shopify admin automation.

When you hire me, you get the person writing the code.

I'm Kevin, and I run LiquidBuilt as a one-person Shopify studio. No account managers, no handoffs, and no junior developer quietly assigned to your project.

I work directly inside Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I build custom sections, landing pages, cart and upsell functionality, subscription experiences, and front-end fixes that improve the store without creating unnecessary dependencies.

I scope honestly, communicate clearly, and ship work that is tested across devices and easy to maintain. I work well with founders, marketers, designers, and agency teams who need someone technical they can actually talk to.

I'm also comfortable working in regulated spaces like health and wellness, where copy, compliance, and conversion all have to hold together.
